What must I do to be saved by God today?
You must recognize that you are a sinner who has sinned against God. You must then place your faith in God's Son Jesus, that is believing He died on the cross to pay the full penalty for your sins and believing He Jesus arose bodily from his grave. Once a person sincerely places their faith in Jesus for salvation, they are instantly given the Holy Spirit by God himself and they will be saved everlastingly (Galatians 3:2) (Ephesians 4:30). Simply put, Faith in Jesus' death, burial, and bodily resurrection = salvation. For proof just look at a few biblical Scriptures below. Read (Romans 1:16-17) (John 3:16-18, 36) (John 6:40) (Acts 16:30-31)
Romans 1:16-17 (NLT)
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes--Jews first and also Gentiles. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life.
Romans 3:25-26 (NLT)
25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.
John 3:16 (KJV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus),
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Acts 16:30-31 (KJV)
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
For more Scriptures you can read (Romans 4:3-11) (Romans 5:1) (Romans 10:9-13) (1 John 5:11-13) (Galatians 2:16).
